On September 1, 2007, Jupiter Telecommunicationsmerged with Jupiter TV, and was re-launched as the new JupiterTelecommunications Co., Ltd. The largest multiple system operator in Japan, JupiterTelecommunications offers four integrated services: cabletelevision, high-speed internet access, fixed-line and mobiletelephony. Established in 1995, we have steadily expanded in thehighly competitive broadcast and telecom sectors, based oncommunity-oriented operations. Today, our businesses continue togrow from four regional centers: Sapporo, Kanto, Kansai and Kyushu.In 2007, aside from enhancing our digital services, we |
| are continuing to broaden an array ofbusinesses, including a full-scale move into the advertising mediabusiness, leveraging our proprietary media including communitychannels. Established in 1996, Jupiter TV has developed together with thegrowth of Japan's multi-channel media market. A leading company inits sector, Jupiter TV fosters growth in Japan's multi-channelmarket by investing in and operating specialty channels. With 16such channels, it is today the country's largest Multi-ChannelOperator (MCO). Its Movie Plus, Golf Network, Discovery Channel,andJ SPORTS, which are available on cable television, digitalsatellite and other media, have been garnering high ratings fromviewers. This merger will enable Jupiter Telecommunications to maintain aconsistent, high quality service from supply through to thedistribution of specialty channel programming. With synergies fromcombining the two companies' accumulated know how, and their strongand effective management resources, we are confident ofcontributing to further growth in the multi channel market. Bydeveloping more new channels, together with the impetus of highvision, we believe we will succeed in delivering an ever morecompelling array of content.
