I would like to express my gratitude to our customers, investors and business partners for their continued support and understanding toward the J:COM group.

The J:COM group actively engages in two core businesses. One, our cable television business provides cable television, high-speed Internet access, and telephony services. Two, our program supplying business invests in and operates a wide variety of channels including movies, sports and documentary. Operations in our cable television business are rooted in the communities of urban areas throughout Japan. Leveraging our cutting-edge network, we deliver various services to 3.43 million subscribing households (as of the end of 2010). Thanks to the support of our loyal customers, we are achieving strong growth in the face of increasingly intense competition.

Our program supplying business invests in and operates 17 thematic channels that are distributed over cable television, DTH, and IPTV platforms. As Japan’s largest programming supplier, the J:COM group is actively engaged in the vitalization of Japan’s multi-channel market.

We have been actively discussing alliance schemes with KDDI Corporation, which became a shareholder last year, aimed at enhancing the value of both companies. This year, we are ready to implement those measures. By combining our strengths to enhance the appeal of our products, we will strive to deliver enhanced convenience that will raise the customer satisfaction bar even higher.

The fusion of broadcast and telecommunications and the migration to digital are ushering in a new era of unparalleled changes to the broadcast and telecommunications industry. Meanwhile, as Japan’s population ages, cable television is facing higher expectations and winning more trust to take on a larger role in the community. The J:COM group remains committed to enriching our customers’ lifestyles by continuing to provide high quality services.
