J:COM Electricity/ J:COM DENRYOKU Contract Notice

  • To sign a contract, you will need to switch your contract from another retail electricity provider to J:COM.
  • It may take several weeks to switch.
  • It may be necessary to replace the outdoor meter (watt-hour meter) (free of charge).
  • Depending on the area where the customer lives, the current contract plan or electrical equipment, the plan you can subscribe to will differ. Please check this website for details.
  • Those who live outside the Hokkaido area and subscribe after April 4, 2024 will be referred to as "J:COM Denki." Those who subscribed before April 3 will be referred to as "J:COM DENRYOKU."

Contract terms, etc.

[Disclosure based on the Specified Commercial Transactions Act regarding "J:COM Denki Home Plan" (hereinafter, this service)]

  • Tokyo, Tohoku, Kansai, Chugoku, and Kyushu Electric Power Area
    Even if you do not use electricity, the basic fee or minimum fee will still be charged.
    Hokkaido Electric Power Area
    If electricity is not used, half the basic fee will be charged.
  • For details on fees, etc., please refer to the ``Participation Contract Terms and Conditions Price List II''.
  • This service uses the power transmission and distribution lines of general power transmission and distribution companies, so in the event of unavoidable circumstances such as nearby power outages or other natural disasters, power outages will also occur.
  • J:COM Electric Power's service area is the area under the jurisdiction of Hokkaido Electric Power Company, Tohoku Electric Power Company, Tokyo Electric Power Company, Kansai Electric Power Company, Chugoku Electric Power Company, and Kyushu Electric Power Company (excluding some areas such as remote islands).
  • Depending on your area of residence and current contract details, you may not be able to switch to or continue using this service.

What do I need when I apply?

You will need the following information to apply: (Please have your electricity bill (meter reading slip, etc.) ready.)

  • Switching company name: Name of retail electricity company under contract
  • Current contract type: contract type/plan name in use
  • Subscriber name
  • Switching operator customer number: Customer number of the retail electricity company you are contracted with
  • Supply point identification number: A number that identifies the electricity supply point (22 digits)

Is indoor construction required when switching to "J:COM Electricity"?

You can switch to "J:COM Electricity" without any indoor construction work required *1.

Can I only sign up for J:COM Denki if I get a cable TV set?

Anyone who lives within the areas served by the following electric power companies can apply for "J:COM Denki" alone.

You can cancel at any time without penalty.

For customers with long-term contracts that include other J:COM services, individual contract terms will apply.

Is "J:COM Denki/ J:COM DENRYOKU" eligible for discounts under government subsidies?

"J:COM Denki/ J:COM DENRYOKU" is eligible for the government's "Electricity and Gas Price Sudden Change Mitigation Measures Project," "Emergency Support to Get Through the Extreme Heat," and "FY2024 Electricity and Gas Fee Burden Reduction Support Project."
