To prepare for disasters, J:COM conducts disaster prevention drills in collaboration with local governments and citizens, and conducts various support activities for people in disaster-stricken areas. We will continue to work to prevent damage caused by disasters as much as possible so that citizens can live a safe and secure life.

2019 Typhoon No. 15 and No. 19 (September and October 2019)

Community Channel Efforts

Typhoon No. 15, which landed in the Kanto region on Monday, September 9, 2019, caused extensive damage to Chiba Prefecture over a long period of time. In the following month, Typhoon No. 19 of the first year of Reiwa occurred one after another, and from October 12th (Sat) to 13th (Sun), 2019, there was record heavy rain in the Kanto and Tohoku regions. I was.

On the J:COM channel, before the typhoon landed, it started providing information on the TV screen with an L-shaped broadcast to alert people to the typhoon. After the typhoon passed through and the scale of the damage gradually became clear, we broadcast a live broadcast of the "Related Information Special Program" on Typhoon No. 15 and No. 19. We sent out detailed information to each region, such as the damage situation and the state of rising and flooding of rivers.

In addition to live TV broadcasts, J:COM's local information application "Do Local" also distributed programs at the same time, so that even those who were affected by the disaster and could not watch TV could receive information on their smartphones.

In addition to distributing information at the time of a disaster, we also announced "Donations On Demand Demand" nationwide on the J:COM channel "Daily News" to collect disaster relief funds for Typhoons No. 15 and No. 19. .

Efforts of regional corporations and stations (Chiba Central Station, Kisarazu Station)

Chiba Central Office received a request for cooperation from Tuesday, September 10th to Friday, September 13th, based on a disaster assistance agreement * with Chiba City. etc. have been shipped.
Kisarazu Bureau received a request for cooperation from September 12 (Thursday) to 21 (Saturday) based on the disaster support agreement * with Kisarazu City, and transported relief supplies to 16 locations including community centers.

2018 Hokkaido Eastern Iburi Earthquake (September 2018)

From September 7th (Friday), "J:COM Channel Sapporo" will start broadcasting from "Urayasu Studio" in Chiba Prefecture due to the support system in the J:COM Kanto area.

The Sapporo station set up a free mobile phone charging corner and a large TV in front of the company building to provide support to people in the area where power outages continue.

On Sunday, September 9th, we distributed 3,000 bananas for free in collaboration with players of the professional basketball B.LEAGUE team ``Levanga Hokkaido.'' This event was broadcast live on J:COM Channel Sapporo's earthquake special program.

The Kumamoto office building was damaged, but the Kumamoto studio and control room were still operational.

From 11:00 pm, we started disaster broadcasting on "J:COM Channel Kumamoto" and continued broadcasting site images and disaster information continuously until the next day.

At 1:25 am on Saturday, April 16, 28 hours after the foreshock, a mainshock with a seismic intensity of 7 occurred.
The company building was severely damaged, and the Kumamoto studio was in a state where early restoration was impossible.
Therefore, after the main earthquake, the outside of the company building was used as a temporary studio and broadcasting began.
From 11:15 a.m., we resumed disaster broadcasting on "J:COM Channel Kumamoto" and continued to provide useful information to everyone in Kumamoto who was affected by the disaster.

From September 10th, "J:COM Channel Ibaraki" will collect information from disaster prevention-related counters and disaster control headquarters of municipalities that have concluded disaster prevention agreements, and will collect information on flooding, road closures, landslides, evacuation advisories, and river water levels sent by each municipality. We continued to provide information such as these by broadcasting on an L-shaped screen.

From September 20th (Sunday) to September 25th (Friday), "J:COM Channel Ibaraki" broadcast a special program related to disasters in Ibaraki Prefecture live. We collected information from the point of view of consumers and evacuees, such as the status of water supply and electricity service, railway operation information, road regulation status, lifeline information such as life-related information, etc., and continuously provided information that changed on a daily basis.

Initiatives of regional corporations and stations (Tsuchiura Cable TV)

On September 13, Tsuchiura Cable Television visited customers' homes within the service area to confirm the extent of the damage.
From September 15, we visited the homes of 871 households affected by evacuation advisories and evacuation orders, and explained the free replacement of submerged equipment and exemption measures.
Many of our phones were submerged in water, and our customers were very pleased with our assistance in distributing phones and towels.

Special program "Takatsuki City-Wide Large-scale Disaster Prevention Drill 'Let's Connect Community and Disaster Prevention Circle' ~Learning Lessons from the Northern Osaka Earthquake~"

Taking advantage of the lessons learned through natural disasters, Takatsuki City conducted disaster prevention drills for all citizens, assuming the occurrence of a large-scale earthquake, with the aim of further raising awareness of self-help and mutual assistance among each citizen.

In the program, we will broadcast live training that is based on practice, centered on the operation training of evacuation shelters set up in the city, and will also be broadcast live on J:COM's local information application "Do Local". We delivered it to citizens widely on both axes of communication.
