Reduce
Paperless contract documents
We are promoting paperless operations by digitizing customer contract documents, etc. This contributes to reducing waste and protecting the environment. In fiscal 2024, approximately 150,000 households cooperated in digitizing notifications.
Reuse
Refurbishment of terminal equipment
Terminal equipment (STB, cable modem, etc.) used by customers for broadcasting and communication services are always provided with the latest hardware and software through refurbishment, and the disposal of electronic equipment is reduced. increase.
Reusing cardboard
We reuse cardboard boxes used when customers return equipment for warehouse shipments and for sending to partner companies, reducing waste by approximately 130,000 tons per year.
Recycle
Recycling of terminal equipment
J:COM Heart Co., Ltd., in cooperation with Eco Planning Co., Ltd., recycles used terminal devices collected from customers at Yorii E Space. Compared to mechanical processing, they disassemble devices more thoroughly by hand, and by separating them into individual materials down to the last screw, they are able to recycle high-quality precious metals and other materials.
Of the disassembled materials, iron parts are subjected to intermediate processing such as compression and recycled as iron.On the other hand, cords such as power cables are crushed and then subjected to intermediate processing to efficiently extract copper, and recycling is promoted using methods appropriate for each material.
In fiscal 2024, we recycled over 99%* of the terminal equipment that was scheduled to be discarded.

Facility tours and training
To deepen employees' understanding of the importance of reducing the burden on the global environment and making effective use of resources, we are conducting facility tours and training in terminal device dismantling in cooperation with Eco Keikaku Co., Ltd.
By actually disassembling and separating used terminal devices, employees gain a deeper understanding of the recycling process and are more aware of the importance of creating a recycling-oriented society.
